the North Pacific, to be specific

After a short call from Paul by sattelite phone, here’s a short update.

Their current position is N 50°40,042 W 128°21,457. They paddled past the Cook Bank. Being on the Pacific brings a bigger swell and strong currents. Today they rounded Cape Scott where they also camped last night.

Marian and Paul are fine, on schedule and enjoying the abundance of wildlife they encounter. However, they were glad to hear the howling wolves were quite a distance away. So far, they have seen lots of whales, eagles, sea-lions, sea otters, deer and bears.

I vividly remember their enthusiasm after seeing the movie “Into the Wild”. So I can imagine the smiles on their faces kayaking through / past this habitat.
